A day of ideas, intensity and instinct. The School of Management at CMR University’s OMBR Campus hosted INCENDIUM 2026 on 10th April. One day, one theme, over twenty events and a campus that moved with the kind of energy that takes months to build and only hours to ignite.
A campus charged with intent
From the first hour, the energy was clear. Formal and focused teams walked in prepared. Conversations moved quickly from strategies to last-minute revisions. Across spaces, screens lit up with presentations and pitch decks. On the main stage, rehearsals blended into performances. In classrooms, discussions sharpened into decisions.
This was a fest built and run entirely by students. Every event scheduled, every shift managed in real time. The BBA and MBA students of the School of Management didn’t just participate—they drove the day across every space on campus.
INCENDIUM unfolded as a live extension of management learning. Participants from multiple institutions stepped into a fast-paced environment shaped by competition, collaboration and constant decision-making. The theme, Dragonic Flame, showed itself in momentum. Every round demanded clarity, speed and presence of mind.
As Akshita noted, “INCENDIUM brings together students from multiple colleges and creates a space to build confidence and leadership.”
What the day held
The day moved across formats, each testing a different layer of thinking. From AV halls to classrooms and the main stage, every space carried its own intensity.
Flagship events like Best Management Team and Best Manager pushed participants through quizzes, crisis scenarios and high-pressure rounds. Strategy, composure and quick thinking became the differentiators.
Leadership Lab, Product Launch and Startup Investment Arena brought ideas into focus, which were testing clarity, scalability and decision-making under time constraints.
Then came the unpredictable rounds. Council Wars tested coordination. MAD Ads compressed creativity into minutes. Some of the sharpest thinking of the day surfaced in these time-bound moments.
As Nishant, a participant from St. Joseph’s College, shared, “The venue is packed and the energy is high. Events like MAD Ads push us to think fast and turn ideas into performances on the spot.”
Beyond competition, the main stage carried its own rhythm. Dance, music, fashion and beatboxing brought movement into the day, while debates, mock auctions and JAM kept the rest of the campus in constant motion.
Reflecting on the experience, Jennifer Deepak shared, “The event has been smooth, engaging and well-coordinated, creating space for both participation and enjoyment.”
Anantika added, “With multiple colleges participating, the atmosphere feels vibrant and collaborative.”
What it reflected
INCENDIUM 2026 reflected the vibrant spirit of a college cultural fest at CMR University, where learning seamlessly blended with creativity and celebration. Moving beyond the traditional classroom, the fest became a dynamic platform where students took complete ownership, planning, organising, and leading a wide range of events. From high-energy competitions to artistic showcases, the festival brought together talent, teamwork, and enthusiasm, creating an electrifying campus atmosphere.
The scale of participation, collaborative efforts, and the ability to sustain energy throughout the fest highlighted the students’ leadership and organisational skills. More than just a series of events, INCENDIUM evolved into a cultural extravaganza that celebrated expression, innovation, and community.
For participants, the experience extended far beyond winning or losing. It was about stepping out of comfort zones, engaging with peers, collaborating across disciplines, and embracing every moment of the journey. The fest fostered meaningful interactions, where conversations went beyond competition and turned into opportunities for learning and inspiration.
Guest speakers Shravan H. Rajani and Subhash added depth to the experience by sharing insights rooted in discipline and perseverance.
Shravan emphasised, “Discipline and consistency shape everything. If you commit to the process, you can achieve anything.”
Subhash echoed this sentiment, stating, “Growth comes from showing up every day. It’s consistency over time that makes the difference.”
Their message resonated strongly with students – adapt, stay consistent, and build steadily.
Dr. Rajat Gera, Director, School of Management, highlighted that events like INCENDIUM provide students with a platform to explore their potential beyond academics, integrating creativity, teamwork, and real-world exposure.
Adding to this, Dr. Bhupendra Tiwari, Director, School of Economics & Commerce (SOEC), noted, “The value lies not just in winning, but in learning. Events like this help students grow, adapt, and prepare for what lies ahead.”
As the day came to a close, scores were tallied, but the energy and conversations continued. INCENDIUM 2026 achieved what it set out to do, it challenged, inspired, and left every participant more confident and enriched than before, with winners being awarded cash prizes and certificates.
