Post Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education

1. Who can apply for this program?

Graduates from any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks are eligible to apply. Prior teaching experience is not mandatory. We welcome both fresh graduates and working professionals interested in Early Childhood Education.

2. Is this a full-time program?

No, the program is delivered in a blended format. It includes self-paced modules, live online sessions, two weeks of in-person workshops, a one-week of field immersion, and a 10-week-long internship. This design allows participants to balance study with other commitments.

3. Do I need prior experience in teaching or Early Childhood Education?

No. The program is designed to equip participants with foundational knowledge, skills, and practical experience. However, prior exposure to teaching or working with children will be an advantage.

4. Do I need to have a B.Ed. to pursue the PGDECE?

No. B.Ed. degree is not mandatory to apply for the Post Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education. The course is open to graduates of any stream, having a minimum of 50% marks.

5. Can this program be pursued alongside a full-time job?

Yes. This is a part-time online blended learning program. Students can pursue this course alongside a job.

6. Is there an entrance test or interview for admission?

No entrance test will be conducted for admission. However, the application process includes a screening of documents and a telephonic/in-person interview. Only after successful screening will a candidate be offered admission. Submitting the application does not guarantee admission.

7. Will I receive a certification or license in addition to my diploma?

No. Participants who successfully complete the program requirements will be awarded only a postgraduate diploma in early childhood education, which is recognised by the CMR University, Bangalore. No additional certifications or licenses will be awarded.

8. Will I receive credits upon completion of the course?

Yes. Completing the course will award graduates a total of 40 credits as per the National Credit Framework.

9. What career opportunities are available after completion?

Yes. Completing the course will award graduates a total of 40 credits as per the National Credit Framework.

10. What is the workload like?

The program includes approximately 800+ hours of learning over 12 months, averaging 10–12 hours per week (including live sessions, assignments, and self-study).

11. Is the internship mandatory?

Yes. The 10-week internship is an integral part of the program. It provides hands-on teaching experience and is required for successful completion. Working professionals will work on a capstone project in place of internships.

12. Will I be compensated during the internship?

Compensation during the internship may be provided by the organisation the student is interning at. Ekya PDI and CMR University cannot guarantee or contribute to such compensation.

13. What support is provided for placements?

The Professional Development Institute, along with CMR University, offers structured placement guidance, recruitment drives, and access to our partner school network.

14. Can I pay the fee in instalments?

Yes. The fee (₹75,000 + GST) can be paid in two instalments. Institutions and non-profit organisations may also avail special discounts (terms apply).

15. Are scholarships available?

Yes. Need-based scholarships are offered. The scholarship application deadline is 15 January 2026.
