Director, Research and Innovation
Dr G Glan Devadhas is a distinguished academic leader, currently heading the Directorate of Research and Innovation at CMR University, Bengaluru. With over 25 years of experience across teaching, research, and academic administration, he brings a unique blend of scholarly rigour and innovation to higher education.
An expert in intelligent systems and process control, Dr Devadhas has held senior academic roles including Vice Principal, Professor, and Head of Department at reputed institutions. He has served on Boards of Studies and Academic Councils, and has mentored several doctoral scholars—five of whom have been awarded PhDs under his guidance. His academic contributions span 87 peer-reviewed publications across SCI, Scopus-indexed journals and international conferences, alongside two authored books and three granted patents.
His research has received funding from premier national agencies including ISRO, DRDO, AICTE, CSIR, and KSCSTE, among others. Notably, he played a pivotal role as Deputy Project Director in the NIU-SAT nano-satellite programme from 2010 to 2015. He has also successfully led the establishment of Centres of Excellence in process control and instrumentation.
An active contributor to the global academic community, Dr Devadhas has organised seven IEEE international conferences and over 50 faculty development programmes, workshops, and seminars. He serves as a reviewer and associate editor for leading journals, including the Elsevier CAE Journal.
At CMR University, he continues to drive interdisciplinary research, promote innovation-led teaching, and strengthen industry-academia partnerships, advancing the institution’s mission to nurture future-ready talent.
