LEAP at CMR University grows in the inner voids, in conversations after class, in ideas shaped during late-night projects, and in a confidence that forms when students push themselves a little further. It’s where learning stretches across textbooks into moments of curiosity, dialogue, and reflection. Here, students learn dynamically, engage with a goal, and progress with clarity. Through LEAP, growth becomes a daily practice – shaped by collaboration, self-discovery, and the quiet breakthroughs that build character.

What is LEAP?

LEAP is a compilation of initiatives that help students explore their strengths, build meaningful connections, and apply their learning to real-world contexts. It includes workshops, mentorship spaces, co-curricular projects, and leadership tracks that invite students to experiment, collaborate, and rise as part of an active and thoughtful community.

Our Mission

CMR University believes that education grows richer when students participate, reflect, and take ownership of their journey. LEAP manifests this philosophy to life through three interconnected routes:

Learning

  • To help students develop the skills, tools, and mindset needed to flourish, at the university and beyond.
  • Through first hand experiences, peer learning, and reflective practice, students move from memorising concepts to understanding how knowledge shapes their identity and aspirations.

Engagement

  • To create environments where students build relationships, support one another, and contribute to communities that matter.
  • Engagement at CMRU is rooted in belonging, where clubs, activities, and initiatives spark friendships, teamwork, and shared purpose.

Advancement

  • To guide students as they transform potential into meaningful action.
  • Through leadership tracks, mentorship, and professional development experiences, students learn to make decisions with awareness, adapt with purpose, and cultivate a spirit of lifelong learning.

LEAP at CMRU

Run by the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), LEAP weaves learning into your everyday life. Students design their own choices, discovering interests, building confidence, and finding their voice within a supportive community.

Many activities move naturally between academics and experience. A workshop may open the door to a social innovation project; a campus event may spark a research question. Each moment becomes part of a larger journey,  one that shapes learners who think critically, act with empathy, and lead with intention.

Life at CMRU is shaped as much by shared experiences as by structured learning. Through LEAP, students explore ideas that cross disciplines, form communities of practice, and discover the leader, writer, athlete, or changemaker within themselves.

Faculty Chats

Informal conversations that bring faculty and students together. Questions turn into insights; insights into new ways of thinking.

CMRU Roundtable

A monthly forum where voices from across the university share experiences and perspectives, encouraging open discussion and cross-disciplinary thought.

Interdisciplinary Symposium

A day dedicated to ideas, featuring presentations, performances, and conversations at the intersection of art,
science, design, and technology.

Student Voice

A student-led platform for discussion, expression, and peer mentorship, a space where thought finds community.

CMRU LEAD – Leadership Bootcamp & Summit

An exploration of leadership as a shared practice built on inclusion, reflection, and service.

Leadership Bootcamp

A two-day immersive experience where students challenge assumptions, strengthen communication, and sharpen their facilitation skills.

Student Officer Leadership Summit

A gathering of student leaders from across campuses, a place to exchange ideas and reimagine leadership in everyday contexts.

Outbound Programmes

Exchange-based experiences that build global awareness and expose students to interdisciplinary, research, and leadership perspectives.

CMRU Ambassadors

First Draft
