Programme Assessment

  • Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS): Allows students to choose courses and earn credits based on their performance.
  • Grades and GPA: Students are awarded grades for each course in a semester. Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) is calculated to measure performance per semester, and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) measures overall performance.
  • Prescribed Curriculum: Each programme includes a prescribed curriculum or Scheme of Teaching and Evaluation. It incorporates SWAYAM and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) offered by reputed institutions.
  • Auditing Courses: Students may audit courses to gain additional exposure without grade pressure, which can benefit placements.
  • Evaluation System: Comprises Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIE) and Semester End Examination (SEE), each carrying 50% weightage.
  • Assessment Methods: Faculty may choose from methods such as assignments, seminars, quizzes, group discussions, case studies, practical activities, and presentations.
  • Semester End Examination: Conducted for all registered courses unless the course has only CIE.
  • Makeup Examinations: Offered to students who fail the SEE in one or more courses, allowing them to retake and improve their grades.

Programme Outcome

  • Engineering Knowledge: Apply the knowledge of Mathematics, Science, Engineering Fundamentals, and a specialisation to solve complex engineering problems.
