CMR University’s 10th Annual Convocation celebrated a decade of academic excellence, honouring 2,350 graduates, 33 Gold Medallists, and 37 doctoral scholars while reaffirming its commitment to nurturing ethical, future-ready leaders.
Guided by its vision ‘to nurture creative thinkers who will drive positive change,’ CMR University marked yet another defining benchmark with its 10th Annual Convocation at the Lakeside Campus on 7th February 2026. The ceremony brought together students, families, faculty, and leaders to honour academic journeys shaped by inquiry, discipline, and resolve.
The day started off with Saraswati Vandanam, setting a reflective and majestic tone. Welcoming the gathering, Dr. H. B. Raghavendra, Vice Chancellor, presented the University’s Annual Report, highlighting CMRU’s growth since its inception, across academics, research, infrastructure, and student development. He reaffirmed the University’s commitment to building a learning ecosystem that remains relevant, precise, and socially responsible.
The Convocation was formally declared open by Dr. Sabitha Ramamurthy, Chancellor, who conferred the Doctor of Science and Doctor of Letters (Honoris Causa) degrees. Graduates across schools stepped forward, took the ‘Oath of Integrity’ reaffirming their vows to be ethical and compassionate in their life’s journey.
Degrees were awarded across Schools and each moment met with applause from the audience. The ceremony celebrated academic excellence and the university’s research efforts. 33 Gold Medallists were recognised for outstanding academic performance, while 37 scholars were awarded Ph.D. degrees, marking CMRU’s expanding research culture. In total, 2,350 graduates from the Class of 2024–25 received their degrees, marking a significant academic landmark for the university.
Delivering the Convocation Address, Shri Sanjeev Keskar, CEO, Arvind Consultancy, spoke on India’s evolving role as a global problem solver. He emphasised that national growth is powered by skilled, ethical professionals and urged graduates to lead emerging fields such as AI, robotics, IoT, and data-driven systems. Education, he noted, equips individuals not only for employment, but for worthwhile impact grounded in integrity and continuous learning.
Dr. M. C. Sudhakar, Honourable Minister of Higher Education, Karnataka, reflected on the long journey parents witness, from early schooling to graduation and praised CMR University’s rapid progress and international standards. He encouraged graduates to actively pursue opportunities, plod ahead with confidence, and value skill-based education. He also highlighted the ‘Deepika’ scholarship initiative for girl students and the State’s focus on embedding employability skills within higher education.
The ceremony was graced by Dr. K. C. Ramamurthy, IPS (Retd.), Chairman of CMR University and the CMR Group of Institutions, along with members of the University leadership, deans, directors, faculty, and staff whose combined efforts shaped this milestone.
As the Convocation concluded, the moment stood as more than a celebration of degrees earned. It mirrored CMR University’s mission in action, ‘To offer multi, inter, and cross-disciplinary modular programmes through technology-enabled learning; To advance research-led teaching that nurtures critical thinkers; and to create leaders for a knowledge-based economy anchored in ethical responsibility.’
With clarity of purpose and faith in their education, the class of 2024–25 stepped forward, ready to learn, lead, and contribute meaningfully to society.
