Prof. H B Raghavendra brings over 35 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic governance to his role as Vice Chancellor of CMR University. A seasoned academic leader and civil engineering professional, he is dedicated to advancing the University’s vision of nurturing creative thinkers and empowering students to drive positive global change.
Throughout his distinguished career, Prof. Raghavendra has held senior leadership positions in several reputed institutions. Prior to joining CMR University, he served as Vice Chancellor at The NorthCap University, Gurugram, and Chandigarh University, Haryana.
Dr. Sanjay Jain brings over three and a half decades of diverse experience across industry, academia, and research. His career spans pivotal roles including researcher, business manager, consultant, professor, department head, research director and principal of a leading engineering institution. His work reflects a deep commitment to technological advancement, academic excellence and institutional transformation.
Dr. Jain began his corporate journey at Hewlett-Packard, where he was instrumental in incubating, developing and releasing several cutting-edge R&D products. He established HP’s first OpenView Expert Centre in Bengaluru and managed global product release programmes, working closely with Fortune 500 clients and international consulting partners. His contributions earned him several accolades within HP and recognition at international forums.
Transitioning to academia, Dr. Jain served as Principal of CMR Institute of Technology, where he led significant reforms that elevated institutional benchmarks in academics, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Under his leadership, the institution earned the prestigious A++ grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
Dr. Jain holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Gujarat University, with research in pattern recognition using artificial intelligence techniques. He ranked first in both his M.Tech. programme and a professional qualification in Certified Financial Management. His technical contributions include the design and development of PC add-on cards, operating systems for embedded systems, and software applications for real-world deployment.
His current academic interests lie in Machine Learning and Deep Learning, and he is actively guiding several doctoral candidates in these domains. Dr. Jain is widely respected for his ability to bridge industry and academia, and for his dedication to nurturing the next generation of technology leaders.
Dr. R. Praveen serves as the Registrar of CMR University, where he oversees the academic and administrative operations that uphold the institution’s standards of excellence. With a steadfast commitment to governance, process efficiency, and regulatory compliance, he plays a pivotal role in the implementation of university policies and academic frameworks. Under his leadership, essential systems such as student registration and enrolment, academic records management, course and examination scheduling, and platforms like Banner and Degree Audit are managed with precision and care.
Prof. (Dr) T.R. Subramanya is an eminent academic, legal scholar, and institutional leader currently serving as the Dean of the School of Legal Studies at CMR University, Bengaluru since April 2018. With an extensive academic and administrative career, he remains deeply committed to the advancement of legal education in India.
Under his leadership, the School of Legal Studies has established eight dedicated research centres that actively contribute to scholarly research and public discourse in contemporary legal issues. He also spearheaded the launch and development of the CMR University Journal for Contemporary Legal Affairs, which has been recognised for its scholarly rigour and is listed in UGC CARE List 1.
Prof. Dr R.K. Vaithiyanathan is a distinguished academic, researcher, and corporate consultant with over 25 years of experience in higher education leadership, research, and management consulting. He currently serves as the Dean of the School of Management Studies and is a certified Peer Team Member and Assessor for the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), as well as the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Dr. N. Kannan is an accomplished academic leader with nearly three decades of experience in teaching, research, and institutional development. He currently serves as the Dean of CMR University’s Lakeside Campus and Director of the School of Engineering and Technology (SOET), where he drives strategic initiatives in curriculum design, research innovation and industry-academia collaboration.
Dr. Kannan holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Bharathidasan University, with a specialisation in Digital Image Processing. His doctoral research focused on the design of vector quantisation techniques for transform coding of images using orthogonal polynomials. He also holds an M.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from Annamalai University and a B.E. from Kumaraguru College of Technology under Bharathiyar University.
Dr. Sudhir Kumar Routray is a Professor and the Dean (Academics In-Charge) at CMR University, where he leads academic planning and quality assurance while actively teaching and mentoring students across master’s and doctoral programmes. With over two decades of experience in industry, academia and research laboratories, Dr. Routray brings global expertise to his role, blending scholarly rigour with hands-on innovation.
He holds a Ph.D. in Communication Engineering from the University of Aveiro, Portugal, where his research focused on the statistical modelling of optical transport networks. He earned his Master of Science in Data Communications from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology (Utkal University), India.
Dr. K. Mohan Reddy serves as Professor and Director of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at CMR University, Bengaluru. With over 15 years of academic and research experience, he brings deep expertise in inorganic chemistry, nanomaterials, and academic quality frameworks. Prior to joining CMRU, he held the role of Senior Associate Professor and IQAC In-Charge at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun.
Dr. Reddy holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Bangalore University, with a focus on photocatalysis and nanomaterials for environmental applications. His doctoral research explored the photocatalytic performance of silver-doped titanium dioxide for the degradation of organic pollutants—an area that continues to shape his current research on materials for energy and environmental sustainability.
An accomplished academic and researcher, Dr. Reddy has published over 45 peer-reviewed papers in high-impact journals (SCI, Scopus, WoS), authored three international books, and delivered presentations at more than 150 national and international academic forums. He serves as a reviewer for Materials Chemistry and Physics (Elsevier), guest editor for Materials Today: Proceedings, and is on the editorial boards of multiple national and international journals.
At CMRU, he plays a pivotal role in institutional quality enhancement, driving initiatives aligned with NAAC accreditation, NIRF rankings, and continuous academic improvement. His leadership in IQAC focuses on data-driven planning, feedback integration, academic benchmarking, and the dissemination of best practices across the university. His quality strategies include the development of academic benchmarks, faculty development programmes, and robust evaluation mechanisms.
Dr. Reddy is also a passionate teacher and mentor. He has guided Ph.D., postgraduate, and undergraduate students on topics related to photocatalysis, nanomaterials, energy storage, and environmental chemistry. His courses span across Engineering Chemistry, Green Chemistry, Spectroscopy, Group Theory, and Advanced Inorganic Materials.
He is the recipient of several honours, including the Young Scientist Award (2009) and the Blackboard Teaching & Learning Award (2021). A life member of the Materials Research Society of India (MRSI) and the Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), Dr. Reddy continues to actively contribute to advancing science education, research excellence, and quality culture in higher education.
Dr T. Harinarayana is an acclaimed geophysicist and educator, renowned for his leadership in sustainable energy research and earth science innovation. With a career spanning over four decades, he brings a unique blend of scientific expertise, research leadership, and global collaboration.
He holds dual doctorates in Geophysics—one from the University of Edinburgh and another from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad—and has played transformative roles at institutions like the National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI), Gujarat Energy Research and Management Institute (GERMI), and now at Crescent Institute, Chennai.
At NGRI, he led critical national and international projects exploring geothermal energy, crustal dynamics, and tectonic structures. He was instrumental in launching India’s first marine magnetotelluric survey and developing remote monitoring systems for seismic activity. His pioneering work in integrating artificial intelligence with earth sciences has resulted in several patents and global research collaborations.
As a mentor, Dr Harinarayana has guided numerous doctoral and postgraduate scholars. He is a sought-after speaker and has held visiting positions at the University of Tokyo and the University of Texas at Austin. His work has earned him honours such as the National Mineral Award and the Andhra Pradesh Scientist Award, alongside fellowships with leading scientific societies.
Through a career marked by innovation, mentorship, and public purpose, Dr Harinarayana continues to inspire the next generation of scientists and sustainability leaders.
Dr G Glan Devadhas is a distinguished academic leader, currently heading the Directorate of Research and Innovation at CMR University, Bengaluru. With over 25 years of experience across teaching, research, and academic administration, he brings a unique blend of scholarly rigour and innovation to higher education.
An expert in intelligent systems and process control, Dr Devadhas has held senior academic roles including Vice Principal, Professor, and Head of Department at reputed institutions. He has served on Boards of Studies and Academic Councils, and has mentored several doctoral scholars—five of whom have been awarded PhDs under his guidance. His academic contributions span 87 peer-reviewed publications across SCI, Scopus-indexed journals and international conferences, alongside two authored books and three granted patents.
His research has received funding from premier national agencies including ISRO, DRDO, AICTE, CSIR, and KSCSTE, among others. Notably, he played a pivotal role as Deputy Project Director in the NIU-SAT nano-satellite programme from 2010 to 2015. He has also successfully led the establishment of Centres of Excellence in process control and instrumentation.
An active contributor to the global academic community, Dr Devadhas has organised seven IEEE international conferences and over 50 faculty development programmes, workshops, and seminars. He serves as a reviewer and associate editor for leading journals, including the Elsevier CAE Journal.
At CMR University, he continues to drive interdisciplinary research, promote innovation-led teaching, and strengthen industry-academia partnerships, advancing the institution’s mission to nurture future-ready talent.
