English Language
Requirements

All international applicants must fulfil at least one of the following:

  1. Successful completion of an English course in Year 10 or higher
  2. Proof of instruction in English from the qualifying institution (certificate or website link)
  3. If the above are not applicable, applicants must present one of the following:
    • IELTS Band Score: Minimum 5.5
    • TOEFL (iBT): Minimum score 70 (or equivalent)

Foundation Programme

The Foundation Programme is equivalent to Grade 12 in India and aligns with Level 6 of the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF). Designed to build core academic competencies, the programme equips students for entry into undergraduate degrees across a range of disciplines.

Reporting

Students must report to campus on the assigned date. Hostel accommodation is confirmed only upon advance booking and annual fee payment. Temporary accommodation may be provided for one night, subject to prior notice and availability.

Requirements

All international students (except from Nepal and Bhutan) must obtain a valid Indian Student Visa endorsed to CMR University, Bengaluru. Visas cannot be converted post-arrival. Students must not engage in employment or enrol in other institutions on this visa. Students arriving late due to visa or personal delays may forfeit admission and fees. It is the student’s responsibility to maintain a valid visa throughout the programme.

Medical Insurance: Mandatory. Submit a copy at registration. Can be procured via travel agents.

FRRO

Foreigner Regional
Registration Office

Students holding a visa valid for over 180 days must register with the FRRO within 14 days of arrival in India. The process includes submission of:

  • Passport and visa copies
  • Bonafide certificate from CMRU
  • Local address proof
  • Recent passport photo

Failure to register within the deadline may result in fines or cancellation of admission. Any changes in passport, visa, or address must be updated with the FRRO. Students leaving India temporarily or permanently must inform the FRRO.

Arrival & Post-Arrival Information

University Registration:

Students must report to the Office of International Affairs at the City Campus for onboarding. Required documents include:

  • Academic transcripts and certificates
  • Passport, ID, and visa
  • Proof of fee payment
  • Residential address (if available)

Fee Payment:

The balance of tuition and hostel fees is to be paid at the time of registration. Delays may affect enrolment.

          Duration of Sports Scholarship:

          1. Any sports scholarship awarded to a student shall be initially for one year and will be renewable every year provided the awardees are improving /maintaining the proficiency in the sport/game concerned. Exceptions to this policy will be made at the discretion of the management only in case of injury, disease, or ill-health provided the student submits relevant documents.
          2. A student shall submit a new application on prescribed form for the renewal of scholarship every year to the sports committee failing which it will be stopped even if one is eligible.
          3. The form should then be forwarded to the Management for approval through the University’s Sports committee
