From impromptu speeches to digital creativity and cinematic science storytelling, National Science Week 2026 transforms the CMR University campus into a dynamic hub of innovation. Over five engaging days, students are set to immerse themselves in competitive challenges, problem-solving, and scientific discovery as we honour the legacy of India’s greatest scientific minds.
A week where science steps out of the lab
The spirit of inquiry takes centre stage as National Science Week 2026 begins at the Design Thinking Lab, transforming it into a vibrant space of ideas, energy, and experimentation.
The celebration opens with ‘Science on the Spot’- an impromptu speech challenge that tests students’ ability to break down scientific concepts with clarity and confidence. The campus then transitions from words to visuals with ‘Digital Poster Presentation – Poster without Paper.’
Students choose scientific themes such as women in science, the physics behind everyday devices, research pathways, emerging technologies, sustainability, and scientific laws in daily life. They deliver quick, thought-provoking insights while designing digital posters using tools like Canva, PowerPoint, and Google Slides.
Presented through smart boards, projectors, and digital platforms, the event becomes a high-energy stage where students bridge complex theory with creative execution. It’s fast, spontaneous, and full of perspective, a reminder that science is not confined to formulas, but powered by fearless thinking.
Science in action, logic and creativity
As the week unfolds, science moves from presentation to participation. In ‘Solve it Smart,’ teams gear up for a science problem sprint, tackling real-life challenges provided instantly by faculty coordinators Dr Motahar S K, Dr M. Vijayalakshmi, and Dr M. R Selvaraj. With problem statements revealed live, the activity sharpens analytical thinking, collaboration, and solution-oriented creativity.
The momentum continues with the science reel contest, inviting students to transform complex scientific ideas into 60–90 second short videos using only their mobile devices. Shot and submitted digitally, these reels bring science into the language of today, concise, visual, and impactful.
Celebrating National Science Day
The week culminates on 28 February marking the National Science Day, bringing together a series of interactive engagements that encourage students to think, question, create, and collaborate. Each activity reflects a simple idea: science is not confined to textbooks. It lives in discussion, design, experimentation, and storytelling.
The celebration features distinguished academic leaders Prof. T. Harinarayana, Advisor, Distinguished Professor and Research Consultant Honorary Professor, Osmania Technology Business Incubator and Dr R. Ravikumar MD, Deputy Academic Director, Foundation for Quality India, Dairy Science College, as the chief guest and the guest of honour, marking a grand finale to a week dedicated to scientific excellence and technology-driven progress. Their presence reinforces the spirit of inquiry that defines the CMR University community.
Across five dynamic days, National Science Week at CMR University is a celebration of curiosity in motion. From impromptu expression to collaborative problem-solving and creative science storytelling, the campus buzzes with ideas that question, challenge, and imagine what’s next.
At CMR University, science is treated as more than a subject; it is spoken, designed, filmed, debated, and celebrated.
