The School ensures a seamless interface between industry and academia through its Career Development Cell and ongoing corporate engagement. Students are guided by professionals who mentor them across domains. Mandatory internships are mapped to student competencies, enabling alignment with real-world roles and expectations.
Graduates develop a concrete understanding of economic and commercial frameworks, analytical thinking, research application, and adaptability to emerging market demands.
Graduates of the programme are prepared for careers in accounting, banking, finance, marketing, and management. Many students also choose to pursue higher education such as M.Com., MBA, or related postgraduate qualifications, both in India and abroad.
Formal affiliations are currently under development. However, the School maintains ongoing collaborations with practitioners, business leaders, and recruiters who contribute to lectures, workshops, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Across its B.Com. programmes—General, International Accounting & Finance, Computer Applications, CMA, Data Science, and Fintech—the School of Economics & Commerce at CMR University is structured around one clear outcome: employability. Each specialisation builds job-ready skills mapped directly to industry roles, helping students secure internships, live projects, and entry-level positions aligned with their chosen domain. From accounting standards and compliance to data analytics and digital finance, students graduate with practical expertise that recruiters look for.
Career preparation is reinforced through a strong mentorship and industry immersion framework. Every student is supported by both a faculty mentor and an industry professional, offering focused guidance on career pathways, skill gaps, and workplace expectations. Internships, live assignments, company interactions, and targeted placement initiatives ensure that learning translates into performance during hiring processes. By graduation, students are not only academically prepared but professionally positioned—confident, connected, and ready to step into the workforce.
The School operates within a technology-enabled campus infrastructure designed for academic excellence and innovation. Students benefit from high-speed connectivity, collaborative learning zones, and access to cutting-edge digital resources. The IBM Business Analytics Lab, hosted on campus, offers students the opportunity to work with professional-grade tools for data-driven decision-making.
In addition to research laboratories, the School provides access to a library housing over 20,000 books, along with digital databases such as Scopus, INDEST, and the Directory of Open Access Books. This ensures a comprehensive academic support system for both coursework and independent exploration.
Students at SOEC study in a digitally connected and resource-rich academic setting. The campus is supported by both wired and wireless networks, allowing seamless access to educational platforms.
Key infrastructure includes a fully computerised central library with a curated collection of textbooks, journals, newspapers, and periodicals. The IBM Business Analytics Lab enhances skill-building in data analysis, financial modelling, and simulation, ensuring students are equipped to thrive in a competitive global economy.
The School’s placement cell connects students with leading recruiters such as Accenture, EY, Infosys, IBM, Capgemini, TCS, Deloitte, and Tech Mahindra. Pre-placement training, mentorship support, and CV workshops are part of the student preparation journey. Our graduates consistently secure roles in consulting, technology, finance, and corporate strategy.
