Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Sinha is currently serving as the Director of Indian Law Institute. He did his Doctorate in International Law from Jawaharlal Nehru University, LL.M. from the University of Nottingham and LL.B. from University of Delhi. His areas of specializations include Human Rights, Constitutional Law, International Humanitarian Law, International Refugee Law, International Criminal Law, International Law and International Institutions. He has authored and co-authored multiple books and has published extensively in the field of International Law, International Relations, Constitutional Law, International Human Rights, and Humanitarian and Refugee Laws, in reputed national and international law journals. Prior to joining the Indian Law Institute (ILI), he was teaching at the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS) as Professor of Law . He has also served as the director of the Indian Society of International Law (ISIL) and Secretary of All India Law Teachers Congress (AILTC)
Prof. (Dr.) Ishwara Bhat is currently the Vice Chancellor of the Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi. Prior to this he was the Vice Chancellor of the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata. He was Fulbright Nehru Visiting Professor in 2010 and involved in co-teaching NPO Law at Columbus Law School of Catholic University of America, Washington DC. He was also a visiting Professor to Queen’s University, Kingston, Canada. He was recipient of Shastri Visiting Research Fellowship in 1992 and researched on comparative study of language rights in India and Canada in the Universities of York, Toronto and Ottawa. His publications include 4 authored books and 3 edited works and 85 research articles in legal journals of international and national repute. He has presented his research work on various national and international platforms. His areas of interest include Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Law and Social Change, Water Law, Research Methodology, World Trade Law, Intellectual Property Rights, NPO Law.
Prof. (Dr.) R. Venkata Rao, is the Chairperson, Vivekananda School of Law and Legal Studies, in Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (VIPS), New Delhi. Prior to this he has served as the Vice Chancellor of National Law School of India University, Bangalore. He has authored 6 books and published more than 130 papers. He has visited more than 30 countries for his academic and research activities. He was the Chairman, Board of Governors of Asia Law Institute (ASLI). He has the distinction of serving the Statutory Bodies of almost all the Law Schools in the Country. Besides, he is a member of Board of Governors of Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, New Delhi. He also served as Member, Governing Council Indian Law Institute New Delhi and Member, Academic Committee, Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi. He has served as Independent Director in prestigious Public Sector Undertakings like, Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL), Bangalore, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL), Bangalore, Goa Shipyard Ltd, Goa. He is also a member of different committees in Bar Council of India and is associated with prestigious bodies like UPSC, State Service Commissions, UGC and NAAC among others. To date he has over 40 years of teaching and research experience. Prof Rao has received multiple awards for his distinguished work in the field of legal education.
Prof. (Dr.) Shashikala Gurpur is the Dean, Faculty of Law, Symbiosis International (Deemed) University & Director, Symbiosis Law School, Pune. Professor Gurpur’s public service commitment is evident in constant engagement in quality improvement in higher education in remote universities, women’s education, law schools and with government at the Law Commission of India, resources to National Women’s Commission, to the Judicial Academy and to policy reforms related to sex workers in Karnataka, engagement in law universities, other institutions and in governance at the provincial and national level. She has successfully worked in cross-cultural teams in her stints at UAE and Ireland. She has been invited to be a member of the International Advisory Board of the CCLE( Centre for Common Law in Europe, UCD Sutherland School, Ireland). She has been appointed as a distinguished member of the editorial board of the Cyberlaw University International E-Journal. She was the convenor of the recent IALS Global Law Deans’ Forum at SLS Pune in November 2017 which brought together national law universities and private law schools as co-sponsors for the first time. She has been nominated as the “member of the MCCIA Corporate Legislation Committee for 2020-2022. She was also invited to speak at the Global Law Justice and Development week at the World Bank, USA. Dr Gurpur is the recipient of prestigious Kittur Chennamma award 2019, from the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of Karnataka for her contribution to the field of education and women’s empowerment.
Justice A.V. Chandrashekara, enrolled as an Advocate soon after graduating and practiced on Civil and Criminal side. He was directly recruited as the District and Session Judge and served as Additional District and Session Judge, at Bangalore and Mangalore and as Principal District and Sessions Judge, in Udupi, Kolar, Bangalore Rural and Mandya Districts. He was sworn in as an Additional Judge of the High Court of Karnataka and as a Permanent Judge subsequently. Since retirement, His lordship has been the Judicial Member of Karnataka State Administrative Tribunal.

Advocate SusheelaSarathi is a designated Senior Counsel practicing in the High Court of Karnataka at Bangalore. She has done her Masters in Sociology, a Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Relations and Personal Management and Post Graduate Diploma in Alternate Dispute Resolution from ICADR. She has been practicing for the last 36 years. Susheela is a trained Mediator, and a Master Trainer from Bangalore Mediation Centre. She has trained many lawyers, judges and professionals in mediation. She has authored two books on Mediation in English- Mediation a Reader’s Handbook and Change through Mediation and another in Kannada. She is a renowned columnist in leading Kannada dailies. She has a weekly blog which gives tips to trainers giving training in mediation.

Mr. Niranjan J. Bhatt is a senior advocate in Ahmedabad. He is the founder and the Managing Trustee of the Institute for Arbitration Mediation Legal Education and Development (AMLEAD) and a Convener of the Ahmedabad Mediation Centre, and has been conducting training of mediators and awareness, sensitisation and promotional programmes in mediation

He was the convenor of the first lawyerrun Mediation Centre of India in Ahmedabad. Mr. Bhatt received advance mediation training from Harvard Law School PIL Programme and was a member of Indo-US Central Study Team.

Mr. Niranjan Bhatt is practicing as an Advocate in Gujarat for 64 years and as a Mediator since 2001. He is a member of INDO-US study Team appointed by Chief Justice of Indian Supreme Court in 1995. He was a member of Supreme Court Delegation to US Supreme Court lead by Chief Justice of India’

Mr. Niranjan Bhatt conducted various mediation trainings in Gujarat, Delhi, Bombay, Banglore, Allahabad, Lucknow, Punjab and Haryana and for law students of Law schools at Ahmedabad, Nirma Law Institute, Gujarat National Law School and University of Petroleum and Energy studies at Dehradun.

Prof.(Dr). Subramanya T.R is currently serving as the Dean of CMR University School of Legal Studies (w.e.f 4-4-2018), Bengaluru after serving as Coordinator & Research Fellow at the Centre for Regulatory Studies, Governance and Public Policy (CRSGPP) in The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences,

Kolkata (2016-2018). Prior to this, he was the Vice Chancellor of Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi (2013-2015). He has also been the Professor of International Law at West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences; Vice-Chancellor (in-charge), Bangalore University; Dean and Chairman of the Faculty of Law, Bangalore University (2008-2010); Registrar (Evaluation) (2010-2012) and Registrar (in-charge) Administration of Bangalore University (2009). He has also served as the honorary member of the Karnataka State Law Commission. In the international level, Prof. Subramanya has served as Legal Counsellor to the Kingdom of Bahrain for over 7 years. In this capacity, he acquired considerable knowledge of the laws and legal systems of the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) States and in the practical application of international law at the municipal level.

As a student, Prof. Subramanya has had a distinguished academic career throughout. Having pursued M.A. (History) and LL. B with First Class and securing the first rank in his LL.M from the University of Mysore, he went on to secure an M.Phil. And Ph.D. Degree in International Law from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi (1993). Apart from the innumerable papers published in a variety of National and Internationally renowned Journals, Dr. Subramanya initially published a book entitled ‘The Rights and Status of the Individual in International Law’ (1984) and edited another on ‘Human Rights in International Law’ (1986). His most recent book released in 2021 on ‘Hazardous Substances in India and the World: Legislations, Frameworks and Management’ is published by Routledge, United Kingdom and was released in UK, Western Europe, Australia and US in May, 2021. The book will be released in India in August, 2021.

Dr. V J Praneshwaran: Born to be an educationist graduated in Law and then LL.M. in Constitutional Law, Phd in Law from Bangalore University. After obtaining significant experience in practicing law, he decided to pursue his passion in teaching. With Core experience in practicing Law, Client Counseling and Teaching, his lustrous experience spans over 23years. He is currently serving as Director, CMR University School of Legal Studies He in the capacity of Director continues to inspire teachers, staff and students. His Battery of students are spread across various careers and social fabric of India and abroad.

 

A die hard nationalist, always trying to contribute to nation Building by imparting, organizing and encouraging Legal Literacy, Education and Legal Awareness initiatives at various levels.

Dr. Phani Kumar Pullela is currently serving as a professor in CMRIT (w.e.f. June 2014), before which he was the Team Lead in Chemistry at Bigtec Labs (July 2007-May 2014). He spent time before this in Marquette University as a Postdoctoral fellow (Mar 2003-July 2007).

He has a stellar academic record throughout his days as a student. He completed his B.Sc (Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics) from Andhra University in 1997, followed by M.Sc in Chemistry from University of Hyderabad in 1999 and obtained his Ph.D in 2003 from University of Mysore on the subject Organic and Medicinal Chemistry.

With over seven awards, nineteen patents and fifteen research grants under his belt, it is evident that Dr. Phani is dedicated in his area of studies and is more than happy to continue to work for the betterment of the world.

With the vast amount of knowledge acquired over the years from his academic and scholastic career, he has given back to the world what he gained, in the form of twenty papers published in SCI Journals, co-authoring two books (Separation Methods in Proteomics, Cytochrome P450 Protocols), guiding four students in the completion of their Ph.D and currently guiding one in obtaining their Ph.D.

Mr. Sreenidhi KR, B.A.L., LL.B, LL.M & UGC-NET qualified, has been with the CMRU School of Legal Studies since 2007. A graduate of the integrated five-year law programme he graduated in the year 2003. He completed his Masters in Law (LLM), specializing in Intellectual Property Law & Cyber Laws. During his time as a student of law he was an avid mooter, debater and a voracious reader.

Before joining CMR Law School he has practiced law as an Advocate and Consultant at Lexparle, a Bangalore based law firm. During his time with the firm, he was responsible for conducting legal research in litigation matters and appearing in various forums including the High Court of Karnataka, the State & District Consumer forums, the Debt Recovery Tribunal, and various other administrative forums. During this time he has also taught Constitutional Law as a visiting faculty at ICFAI Law School.

He has organized and conducted various workshops and seminars in several colleges throughout the state of Karnataka besides having delivered guest lectures on specialised topics at several top institutions including lectures delivered during officers’ training programmes at the National law School of India University, Bangalore. He also has several publications to his credit.

At CMR Law School, he has been involved in various academic, administrative and co-curricular activities. He has coached students to participate in Moot Court, MUN, Model Parliament and Debate competitions, besides having been the organizing secretary for the CMR International Law Conference and the CMR National Law Seminar. He has been the faculty coordinator for Loquitor, the school’s Debate and MUN club from the past eight years.

He has been teaching subjects like Constitutional Philosophy, Constitutional Interpretation, Legal Philosophy & Theory of Justice and Jurisprudence at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Advocate Vidya Selvamony is a visiting faculty in CMR School of Legal Studies (w.e.f. June 2017), alongside doing part time in Terre des hommes Germany – India Programme, as Programme Co-ordinator. She has her own Trust going by the name of Legal Aid Trust, which was established in 2013 as a part of her philanthropy activity, where she is an Advocate and a Managing Trustee. Before this, she was the Programme Co-ordinator at Equitable Tourism Options (EQUATIONS) from Feb 2004 to May 2013. She worked as a Legal Research Associate (Nov 2001 – Jan 2004) for Nagarika Seva Trust and even before that, she was an Advocate in Thiru&Thiru Associates (Advocates &Solicitors)  from Aug 2000 to Oct 2001.

She started off her academics in law by completing Bachelor of Arts (Law) from University of Bangalore, after which she did her B.A. in LLB from the same university. She obtained her LL. M, Master of Law (Corporate Law) from Annamalai University and is currently pursuing a PHD in Law from CMRU.

She has made several contributions in her career, from being a member of the drafting committees for “Protection of children from sexual offences Bill”, “Information Technology Amendment Act”, “Model Street Vendors Bill” to working in domestic & international NGOs. She has authored and published over twelve documents, initiated several campaigns such as “Offences against Children Bill”, given more than forty-five print and media interviews at the international, national, state and local level on the issue of child protection.

She has had international exposure by participating, presenting papers and giving speeches in countries like Nepal, Brazil, Germany, Paris and Luxembourg.
