Expanding its societal focus, CMR University<\/a>, one of the top private universities in Bangalore<\/a>,  organized a guest lecture titled Vitriolage<\/strong> to sensitize students on the issue of acid attacks on women. This event was held on 9 February 2022 by the Women Empowerment Club. Renowned activist Ms. Pragya Prasun Singh – a Nari Shakti Puraskar awardee and acid attack survivor was the guest speaker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was conducted online through the Google Meet platform. Ms. Pragya spoke about her emotional and inspiring story. She also shared a few tips and motivated the audience on how to overcome obstacles and crises. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students from across CMR University\u2019s specialized Schools took part in the event and even got to interact with Ms. Pragya. This interaction inspired the students and brought about a feeling of empowerment to tackle pertinent issues head-on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Ms. Pragya Prasun Singh<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pragya Prasun is an acid attack survivor turned activist and social worker who has been fighting for providing relief and rehabilitation to her fellow acid attack and burn survivors from over 7 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has been coordinating with eminent doctors\/hospitals from across the country for medical advice and treatment. She also works towards personal counseling and generating a permanent source of regular income for all of the survivors who are in need.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pragya is founder of “Atijeevan Foundation” an NGO that apart from facilitating free of cost surgeries and other non-surgical procedures also provides avenues for income generation to several acid attack and burn survivors. She has received the prestigious Nari Shakti Puraskar in 2018 for empowering several women in need.
